Remember those? A chance to get out of the house and drive to somewhere new. Time to refresh at the well.
We set off on a Friday, to be different, and travelled north following directions to a spot called Platypus Flat.
The whole length of the unsealed road was shaded by tall straight trees, reaching for the sky…potential power poles probably!
We wound down through the Nymboida National Park. and headed to the flats on the river.
A few campers had set up already and kids were floating about in li-los.
The day was hot so it was a welcome spot to have a dip and the pools were refreshed by the gurgling cascades.
We drove back on an alternate route and spotted a family dipping into a creek at one of the crossings.
We made a note of the spot then drove to Dangar Falls, as there is a great swimming spot at its base.
Having completed our research we now had options for the visitors arriving here in a few weeks, though they may just prefer to splash about in our creek that gurgles from the cold springs in the hills. We can have a dip after doing one of of the rain-forest walks in the Dorrigo National Park.
So lucky to be able to access all this natural beauty…and be refreshed in spirit too.
