The two Daves have mustered the cows and drafted off the calves before I get there.
It is hot and dusty. The cows are resting in the shade of an old Apple Box tree.
We have to tag all the young calves and check their eyes. They move reluctantly along the race and there is a bit of language used as some of them turn around and want to go backwards.
The males get a white tag and the females a purple. We draft them in two groups and will let the smaller ones go back to their mothers.
The bigger ones will be kept in the yards and the noise tonight will be deafening. I am guessing the mothers will not be too distressed and will be happy to have them weaned.
Tomorrow in the cool of the morning we will give them their vaccination needle. Be brave little ones!
